Mindful on a Plane - a simple exercise

I love traveling, especially those quiet thoughtful times on a smooth flight. My head seems clearer, calmer with ideas and writing that just flow.

That's why I found this meditation on the New York Times really interesting:

Sit up straight in your airline seat, your posture erect, feet planted on the floor.

Place your hands on your lap, on the armrest or palms-down on the tray table.

Close your eyes.

Take 10 slow, deep breaths through your nose.

Listen to the white noise of the engine.

Notice the sensation of your body moving through space.

If you experience anxiety, try silently repeating phrases such as: “May we all be happy. May we all feel safe. May we all feel at ease.”

Next time you fly, give it a try. Link Here
